You've heard people reminisce, I know it.
About the 90s, about the 80s, about a simpler time.

But you've also heard people in love with the present or the future.

But what duality is there.
Truthfully I don't know what specific point I'm making but it is more observational.
I myself have a love-hate relationship with the time I live in, bad overproduced music, everyone is connected to some way or another to their cell phone, their computer, their iPhone and iLife...
It's disheartening, but beautiful
We've accomplished something amazing in less than 10 years
People everywhere are seeing new things, experiencing and learning, having opportunities that even 5 years ago would have cost thousands and been in some form of preliminary stage

I absolutely love the fact that for about 400 dollars I can get a computer that will outperform most any from not even 3 years before.

But I don't like this:
Auto-tune
Twitter
Obviously biased media (both sides of the fence just change the channel)
Reality TV
Starbucks
Loss of craftsmanship
People too into the conversation on their bluetooth not noticing the world around them

Things I like:
Availability of products and services
Open communication
Exponential technological advancement


There's much more on both sides
But I guess my point or lack thereof is that time keeps moving
We can't do anything about it
But we can do our best to make right now and later... work and hopefully well

One thing that we do however need to improve, education.

Dear DA, whomever is listening,

I do not want a subscription, I've said I didn't want one and the 8 dollars for three months of things that were already on dA but are now blocked (like critiques)and counter productivity.

I'm here for art, and critiques are what the comment box was for anyway.

Way to take some of the art community out of it for profit.

For over 70 years a personal choice of an estimated 30 million Americans has been infringed upon.

This has put countless otherwise law abiding and productive citizens in jail and taken away their rights.

Legalization could do many things including help boost the economy, put tax-payer money to better use, keep money away from criminals and preserve our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness!

But that's alright, I'm starting anew
